“As Olivia has evolved, so have her shoe choices. We began her journey with solid platform pumps by Miu Miu and Gucci,” the show’s costume designer, Lyn Paolo, told FN. “However, as her world has become less and less solid, she now favors more of a stiletto heel.”
At last year’s #PaleyFest, Washington dressed feet-first in bright yellow Christian Louboutin pumps. For the “#Scandal” star, #shoes go beyond an added accessory. She told Footwear News, “A big part of finding a character is figuring out what shoes she wears.”
Other statement shoe looks came from Washington, in a pair of ankle-strap sandals paired with a Ulyana Sergreenko lace dress, and Lowes, in Neil J. Rodgers satin shoes.
“Scandal’s” First Lady, Bellamy Young, also made an appearance on the red carpet in a black-and-white strapless mini with a pair of Jerome C. Rousseau peep-toe pumps to match.
The show’s leading ladies once again proved that their onscreen looks transcend offscreen, too. Stanchfield, who plays White House Press Secretary Abby Whelan, traded in her character’s classic pumps for a pair of studded Cesare Paciotti shoes.
Kerry Washington and her fellow gladiators turned heads at the 33rd Annual PaleyFest in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The “Scandal” cast—including Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Scott Foley, Guillermo Diaz, Josh Malina, Jeff Perry and Portia de Rossi—arrived at the Dolby Theater looking glam for the much-anticipated panel.
