ASCAP president Paul Williams was also on hand to celebrate this year’s Grammy Awards nominees. “What’s so remarkable is we have over 300 ASCAP members nominated [for Grammys],” Williams said. “We have about 90 of them here [at the pre-Grammy brunch] recognized by their peers for the amazing work they do.”

Rock City, also known as R. City, said he was getting good vibes at the ASCAP brunch. “It’s dope, everybody’s been showing me love [and vice versa.]. The weather is nice out here in L.A., it reminds me of being back home [in the Virgin Islands]… just a good vibe.”

Guests at this year’s brunch included Richie Sambora, Orianthi, Lee Ann Womack, Bryan Michael Cox and Goapele. Attendees were treated to food like beef sliders, cocktails. Newly-signed Atlantic artist PJ, who was attending Grammy weekend events for the first time, playfully noted that what she loves most so far is the “free food.”

The ASCAP Grammy Nominees Reception was held Friday afternoon (Feb. 12) at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, celebrating over 300 members nominated for Grammys this year.
