Gregory M. Jones was born July 2, 1970 in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Johnstown, PA. November 1987 Gregory joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. June 1989 Gregory then transitioned into the Regular Army as a Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic with his first duty station at Fort Lewis, WA. In 1993 Gregory transitioned into the US Army Reserves and the IRR until July 2000 when he returned back to active duty he was awarded the MOS of 92M Mortuary Affairs Advisor. Gregory’s civilian and military education are as follows: Associates of Arts in General Studies from Columbia Southern University, Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration, working on MBA – Finance University of North Alabama, United States Army First Sergeant Course, United States Army Inspector General’s Course, United States Army Warrior in Transition Course, Basic, Advanced and Senior Leader Courses. Gregory served one tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and his awards throughout his career include two Meritorious Service Medals, six Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Medal (w/star), Global War on Terrorism, Army Superior Unit Award and 9 Army Good Conduct Medals. In May of 2011 Gregory founded Walking In Her Shoes a domestic violence awareness organization after the death of a second relative. Gregory is married to CW2 Katrina U. Jones and is the father of eight children and three grandchildren.
