Having just wrapped-up with New York Fashion Week, we wanted to get their take on New York Fashion Week that just came to a close! Here is what they had to say:
As we are gearing-up for the fall and the New York Fashion Week having just wrapped-up, we are so excited to share with you some of the latest trends straight from the streets of New York City! Amra and I just had the privilege of attending our first ever New York Fashion Week, and it was amazing to see so many talented individuals having arrived from all over the world. The streets were filled with bustling fashion talent and onlookers, who could not help but to snap millions of photos at the sight of such fashionistas. Thus, it was our honor to participate in NYFW’s series of events (from fashion shows like Desigual, Lauren DeWitt, and La Petite Robe di Chiara Boni) to private parties (like Haney for Net-a-Porter at Elizabeth Taylor’s former home and an NFL celebrity brunch).
Our take on the fall fashion after NYFW is to keep it simple yet be recognizable. We noticed that although there are trends from the minimalist-chic to colorful 1970s hippie, the number one fashion rule seems to be: stay true to yourself and your own style. Aside from brining out your own colorful character, always balance out your outfit with neutral colors like black, white, camel and gray. As for the fall fashion staple pieces, always have on hand a khaki colored trench and a wide brimmed hat, you can never go wrong with those two. They are easy to throw-on and add so much sass to your look.
Below, we have included some of our photos from the first day of NYFW, where the weather was not so kind to us—it started pouring as we were catching a cab to Moynihan Station, where most of the large fashion shows took place this year. These photos were taken on and around Park Avenue, and one was captured at the Desigual show, where we spotted our all-time favorite fashion icon, Iris Apfel—she is 94 and still the belle of the ball! Until we see you again, from New York with love!
